We provided a brand messaging framework, art direction and design of a complete web experience, along with new tools for rapid content updates, tracking and reporting for hotel staff.

The Island Inn is a 19th century hotel located on Monhegan Island, off the coast of Maine. The natural beauty and remoteness of the hotel setting is its most distinctive feature, attracting travelers seeking an escape from the mainland. Our approach made use of the visual impact of sweeping vistas and historical charm, scaling up the images up to envelop the viewer.

7×7 Magazine is San Francisco’s monthly guide to music, food, fashion, art and of course, society events—tailored for a young affluent audience. Albertson joined the editorial team in concepting stories and visual features that have a uniquely San Francisco theme. The creation of a visual prototype was instrumental to initial ad sales efforts, as well as providing the template for launch of it’s first issues.

Look-Boutique.com is a retail enterprise offering a curated selection of clothing, accessories and editions for the ultra-hip. Albertson Design created a unique brand identity and online store with complete sales and inventory management.

Look Boutique sells artist-hip clothing and accessories. Making use of the short name, the letters form a modular stack, with the last letter reversed. We suggested to the client, “perhaps it’s looking at itself in the mirror?”

Così, a nationwide specialty restaurant with a menu focused around their fresh hearth-baked bread, required a comprehensive identity for its retail expansion. The mark incorporates a hand-drawn flame to represent the artisanal menu. Design work extended into the color scheme, signage, paper goods, and menu-boards.

As consultants to the spring advertising campaign, we developed background narratives for several creative concepts. Working closely with the inhouse team, our efforts guided the art direction and design within an established brand definition of “Everyday Sophistication.”

Introduced in November of 2004, Chow is an alternative food magazine for an info-hungry audience. As the founding creative agency, we served up recipes, restaurants, fast food, and travel in a bold and colorful way—with a dash of attitude. Chow magazine is now a Cnet channel.
