Wine is big business in California, and believe it or not, making wine requires constant chemical analysis and a lot of mentoring. Napa Valley Think Tank is a laboratory and resource center for the winemaking community of Napa Valley. They provide state-of-the-art lab services and supplies, and a place to share knowledge. They asked Albertson Design to create a comprehensive brand identity, web presence and retail environment that suited their business objectives, and communicate the precision and craft of their industry.
We explored the competitive landscape, and instantly saw an opportunity to present Think Tank in a crisp and friendly contrast to what was already out there. As a creative exercise, we took some visual cues from European craft guild marks, depicting an owl sitting on top of a wine barrel, literally think and tank.
This was part of a comprehensive brand launch, with web site, on-site retail design, signage, and marketing materials.
